Odisha Polls Phase 4: Over 70,000 Staff to Facilitate Voting for 99.61 Lakh Voters

Bhubaneswar: With the fourth and final phase of the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha approaching, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of the state, Nikunj Bihari Dhal, has provided crucial details about the electoral process.

In a press conference held today, Dhal revealed that a staggering 99.61 lakh (9.961 million) voters will exercise their franchise on Saturday, June 1. Of these, 50.88 lakh (5.088 million) are male voters, 48.72 lakh (4.872 million) are female voters, and 6,087 are third-gender voters.

The Phase IV elections in the state will span six parliamentary constituencies and 42 Assembly segments falling under them. Voting will take place across 10,882 polling centres, with 14 centres exclusively manned by women polling staff.

Dhal emphasized the massive scale of the electoral process, with over 70,000 polling staff participating in the election work during this phase.

A total of 460 candidates are in the fray, with 394 contesting for Assembly seats and 66 vying for the six Lok Sabha constituencies.
