Bhubaneswar: As per the latest bulletin by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), several districts in Odisha are expected to experience rain and thunderstorms on June 5, Monday.
The IMD has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface wind speeds of 30-40 kmph in certain districts including Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada, Koraput, and Kandhamal.
According to the forecast, there is a high likelihood of light to moderate rain and thunderstorms occurring in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, and Kandhamal. The remaining districts of Odisha may experience rain or thunderstorms in one or two places.
In specific districts such as Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Angul, and Dhenkanal, thunderstorms with lightning are expected to occur. The capital city of Bhubaneswar may also witness a few episodes of rain or thundershowers on June 5, as stated in the evening weather bulletin by the IMD.
