Bhubaneswar: Ahead of its official launch on September 17, the Odisha Government’s Subhadra Yojana has begun Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) testing, with many eligible beneficiaries receiving Re 1 in their registered bank accounts.
The testing aims to ensure the smooth distribution of financial aid, which will amount to Rs 5,000 for each beneficiary on the launch day.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that approximately 60 lakh women have enrolled in the scheme. Those who register by September 15 will receive the first installment directly into their bank accounts on September 17.
The Subhadra Yojana will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his birthday, with the first financial assistance instalment distributed on the same day.
Under the scheme, beneficiaries will receive a total of Rs 10,000 annually in two instalments, on Raksha Bandhan and International Women’s Day (March 8). Over five years, each participant will benefit from Rs 50,000.
The scheme is set to be executed during the 2024-25 to 2028-29 financial years, with a total budget allocation of Rs 55,825 crore.
