Odisha Woman Constable Killed in Road Accident on Cuttack-Paradip Highway

Jagatsinghpur: A woman constable was killed in a tragic road accident today on the Cuttack-Paradip highway near Nishamani Sarani Square in Jagatsinghpur district, Odisha.

The incident occurred in the afternoon when the constable, identified as Suruja Munda, posted at Tirtol police station, was returning after traffic duty for the Mahashtami celebrations of Dussehra. A speeding bus, en route from Paradip to Cuttack, collided with her scooter and ran over her after she fell from the vehicle. She died on the spot, according to local reports.

Tirtol police officials arrived at the scene, recovered the body, and sent it for postmortem. Meanwhile, Raghunathpur police intercepted the bus, identified as “Anand”, at Jaypur Square, though the driver fled the scene. A probe into the incident has been initiated.
