Orissa HC Allows DJ Music During Durga Puja in Cuttack, Sets 65 dB Limit

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court has allowed DJ music during the upcoming Durga Puja in Cuttack but with a strict noise limit of 65 decibels. This decision came after hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) about the issues plaguing the Millennium City.

Previously, the court had asked the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Cuttack, to submit an affidavit detailing measures taken to curb noise pollution during the celebrations.

The High Court also expressed displeasure over the deteriorating road conditions in Cuttack and directed authorities to complete repairs within seven days.

Additionally, it had earlier prohibited the construction of decorative gates on roads during the Dussehra festival to ease traffic congestion. The court also ordered the removal of overhead cables and wires, which pose risks to public safety.
