Chandikhole: Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a new initiative promising free electricity to the residents of Odisha during a visit to the state. The program, named “PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana,” aims to provide up to 300 units of electricity per month to households, facilitated by the installation of solar panels on rooftops.

Additionally, farmers can benefit by installing solar panels on their farmland for agricultural purposes.

Addressing a public gathering in Chandikhole in Odisha’s Jajpur, PM Modi emphasized his government’s commitment to transforming Odisha into a gateway of development. He highlighted significant investments in the petrochemical sector, job creation opportunities, and the state’s emergence as a textile industry hub.

Taking a swipe at the Congress, PM Modi criticized past administrations for neglecting the welfare of the poor and tribal communities. He underscored the BJP’s efforts to empower marginalized sections through initiatives like Jan Dhan accounts and the Mudra scheme.

PM Modi urged voters to support the BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, aiming to achieve the party’s ambitious target of 400+ seats. The event was attended by prominent BJP leaders, including Odisha BJP President Manmohan Samal and MPs Aparajita Sarangi and Pratap Sarangi.
