PM Modi To Visit Odisha Again On May 20 For Campaign Blitz

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set for another visit to Odisha on May 20, with plans for a roadshow in Puri, announced Golak Mohapatra, the state BJP vice-president. Additionally, PM Modi will address public gatherings in Cuttack and Angul on the same day.

Mohapatra also disclosed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah will conduct mega rallies in Rourkela, Sorada, and Kantabanji on May 15. Following suit, JP Nadda will campaign for the BJP in Padampur, Sundargarh, and Hinjili on May 17.

Notably, Hinjili is the home turf of Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik, who is seeking re-election for the sixth term.

These campaign events are strategically aimed at Bargarh, Sundargarh, Balangir and Aska parliamentary constituencies, which, along with Kandhamal, will witness polls in the second round on May 20. Both Sorada and Hinjili fall under the Aska LS seat, traditionally a stronghold of the ruling BJD.

Voting in Puri, Cuttack and Angul, which comes under the Sambalpur LS seat, is scheduled for May 25.

PM Modi’s upcoming visit follows his recent trip to Odisha on May 10, where he held a 2.5-km roadshow in Bhubaneswar and addressed rallies in Kandhamal, Balangir and Bargarh. Shah initiated the BJP’s election campaign in Odisha from Sonepur on April 26, while Nadda addressed a rally in Berhampur on April 28.

The simultaneous Lok Sabha and assembly elections in Odisha will be held in four phases, starting May 13.
