Police Bust Inter-State Looter Gang In Bhubaneswar, Six Held

Bhubaneswar: Six persons were arrested by Commissionerate police on Monday concerning inter-state loot cases.

Two of the arrested looters are from West Bengal and four are from Bihar.

According to police, the accused were targeting elderly persons and women at various Durga Puja pandals in Bhubaneswar.

On getting particular inputs, police swung into action and nabbed them during a theft bid at Nayapalli Durga Puja pandal.

“While the Durga Puja festivity has returned to Bhubaneswar with full glory after a two-year Covid hiatus, several looter gangs have become active and are taking undue advantage of the crowd at various Puja pandals,” a police official said.
