Odisha Private Bus Owners To Go On Strike From Oct 20th Protesting Against LAccMI Scheme

Bhubaneswar: Private bus owners in Odisha are set to go on strike from October 20 to protest against the state government’s LAccMI scheme.

The Private Bus Owners Association, led by Treasurer Barda Acharya Mohanty, claims that the scheme will lead to financial losses for private bus owners as government buses will be charging lower fares.

Mohanty said that the Chief Minister had promised that LAccMI buses would only operate between panchayats and blocks, but the government has since announced that the buses will also run from block to district.

Mohanty said that the association had called for the strike after its demands were not met.
