Renowned Odisha Journalist Basudev Mahapatra Passes Away At 55

Bhubaneswar: Renowned journalist Basudev Mahapatra passed away in the capital of Odisha on Monday. He is survived by his son and his senior reporter wife Sujata, who works for Kalinga TV.

Basudev began his career as a print journalist and worked with several prominent publications. He was born in Khurda’s Balugaon village. He transitioned to the radio media and briefly held the position of editor at Naxatra News. Later, he started his own web news portal and worked as a freelancer for several local and national news outlets.

Basudev, an Odia and English-speaking journalist, was well-known for his reporting and analyses of local development.

According to family members, he was not doing well lately and complained of discomfort this morning. He was then taken to Capital Hospital, where he was declared dead.
