Robbers held within 24 hours of crime in Bargarh, loot items recovered

Bargarh: In a success to Attabira Police it has arrested all four members of a looters gang involved in a dacoity at a roadside eatery in Sukutapali area here within 24 hours of its occurrence on Friday.

Police also recovered Rs 7,040 looted cash, three mobile phones and several sharp weapons used in the crime from the held accused.

As per the report, the gang of four had targeted the roadside eatery (dhaba) in the intervening nights of August 24 and 25. After arriving at the spot in a Maruti Ertiga SUV they snatched away Rs 12,000, a mobile phone and four chairs from the possession of the dhaba staff and customers by threatening them with sharp weapons.

After the victims lodged a complaint at Atabira Police Station in connection with the case subsequently, IIC Anil Pradhan formed a team to investigate into the case and succeeded in arresting the accused.

They were later forwarded to court, says report.

All the four accused have been identified as residents of Sambalpur and they have multiple criminal cases pending against them at different police stations in the district, informed the IIC.
