Rourkela Junior Engineer Caught Red-Handed While Accepting Bribe

Rourkela: A junior engineer of the Tileibeni block in the Deogarh district was arrested today by the district vigilance cell on charges of soliciting and taking bribe.

The accused, identified as Bijayananda Sahu allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 8,000 from a contractor to facilitate the release of the final bill for the job that was carried out by him.

Consequently, a trap was set on Thursday, and the vigilance officials caught Sahu in the act, red-handed.

The bribe money was seized from the accused possession. Subsequently, a case has been filed in this regard, and further investigation is ongoing, according to an official.
