Sambalpur: Police Unearth Woman’s Body From House Backyard

Sambalpur: Police have unearthed a woman’s body, digging the backyard of her house at Badmal Rautapada under Jamankira police limits in Sambalpur district on Monday.

Police said that the deceased woman, identified as Savitri Badi, wife of Ranjan Badi was murdered and buried by the latter.

Police further said that the accused husband revealed the truth during interrogation.

According to reports, Savitri had been missing for the last two months while Ranjan was telling everyone that she has gone somewhere without informing him.

However, suspecting foul play, family members of Savitri lodged a complaint with Jamankira police.

Jamakira police started a probe into the incident. While interrogating Ranjan, he narrated the incident that he is the one who killed his wife during Karama Puja and buried her in the backyard of the house.

After he revealed the truth, police reached the spot and started digging the place to recover the body. Further probe is on.
