Security Beefed Up In Cuttack Ahead Of Kalipuja & Diwali

Cuttack: In a bid to maintain law and order during Kalipuja and Diwali. As many as 50 platoons force and 300 senior police officers will be deployed across Cuttack city, informed Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra on Sunday.

The Commissionerate Police has taken adequate arrangements to ensure zero crime during the festivals.

DCP Pinak Mishra said that six Additional DCP-ranked officers, 37 ACsP, and 55 Inspectors will be on heading the forces.

“Steps have been taken to check petty and major crimes during the puja. People have been directed to remain careful while bursting crackers. The bursting of crackers is allowed between 8 pm to 10 pm. Those violating will be punished,” he said.

A joint team of police and the Odisha State Pollution Control Board will go around the city to ensure strict adherence of directions.

Notably, Goddess Kali will be worshipped at 90 pandals in Silver City. Of them, there are 25 such pandals where the tableau is made of silver and the goddess will be adorned with gold ornaments.
