Spurious Ghee Factory Busted in Odisha’s Cuttack, Owner Detained

Cuttack: A spurious ghee manufacturing unit was unearthed in Jagatpur New Industrial Estate on Thursday. The factory was operating under the guise of producing “Bal Gopal Ghee.”

Acting on a tip-off, a joint raid was conducted by the Jagatpur Police Station and the Cuttack Municipality Corporation (CMC). The authorities found that the factory was adulterating Ruchi Gold vanaspati with a synthetic essence and other ingredients.

The police detained the factory owner and have launched a thorough investigation into the matter.

Health officials are concerned about the potential health risks associated with consuming adulterated ghee.
