TPNODL Celebrates Linemen Diwas in Balasore 

Balasore: Tata Power Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) celebrated Lineman Diwas and National Safety Week with great enthusiasm and energy. The event aimed to recognize the invaluable contribution of Linemen and ground maintenance staff in ensuring uninterrupted power supply to its consumers. The event was celebrated on 4th March 2023, at Hari Plaza, Balasore.

TPNODL acknowledged the tireless efforts and selfless service offered by Linemen and ground maintenance staff, who worked round the clock to maintain power infrastructure and prevent unwanted power outages. The Linemen are multi-tasking entities, responsible for various aspects of the consumer’s life cycle, from feasibility studies for new connections to resolving metering issues, revenue collection, and even disconnection.

The National Safety Week will be celebrated from 4th to 10th March, in alignment with the 52nd National Safety Day in India. The theme for this year’s National Safety Day is “OUR AIM – ZERO HARM”. TPNODL encouraged all its employees to actively participate in the safety week celebrations and reiterate their commitment to building a sustainable safety culture.

The event was graced by dignitaries such as Mr. Bhaskar Sarkar, CEO TPNODL, Mr. Dushyant Kumar Tyagi: Chief of Commerce, Nilesh Potphode – Chief operations services, Mr. Sri Ballav Singh – Chief, HR Administration, Sidharth Shankar Ray – SE, Balasore, Amareswar Satpathy – EE, BED, Debashis Puhana – EE, CED and employees of TPNODL also participating.

The event witnessed a host of activities across all divisions of TPNODL, involving the entire Lineman staff of TPNODL and the BA Line staff of 11 kV and 33 kV AMC. Some of the activities included a Safety Rally/Road March, Flag hoisting, Safety Oath, Address by CEO, Chief Operation, Chief Commercial, Chief HR, Cultural Program, TPNODL & BA Employee at respective divisions, Safety Skit, Prize distribution, Safety Slogan/Poem, E-Quiz for All Employees, Hazards Hunt reporting, Vulnerable Location, Public Safety Awareness, and PTW, JSA Awareness Session at Divisional Level.

Mr. Bhaskar Sarkar, Chief Executive Officer, TP Northern Odisha Distribution Ltd., said, “We are celebrating 1st day of the national Safety Week 2023, as the Linemen Day. Safety of the linemen are paramount to us as they work tirelessly in the most unsafe conditions to ensure quality power supply to the consumers. We appeal all our line men brothers to remember the mantra of “Taste before touch (TBT)” while working on duty. We value the lives our linemen and are ensuring proper trainings and making the line men provided with all necessary protective equipment.
