BJP Trolls Congress, Sends ‘Jalebi for Rahul Gandhi’ After Haryana Victory

New Delhi: After securing a historic third consecutive victory in Haryana, the BJP took a playful dig at the Congress, sending them a symbolic gift—jalebi.

The party ordered 1 kg of the sweet from Bikanervala in Delhi’s Connaught Place, with delivery to 24, Akbar Road, the Congress headquarters. The order, priced at Rs 609, was made under the recipient name “Jalebi for Rahul Gandhi” and the payment mode was set as ‘cash on delivery’.

The BJP shared the gesture on social media, with Haryana’s BJP unit tweeting, “On behalf of all the workers of Bhartiya Janta Party Haryana, Jalebi has been sent to Rahul Gandhi’s home,” along with a screenshot of the order details.

Jalebi, a popular Indian sweet, gained attention during the Haryana election after Rahul Gandhi mentioned it during a campaign visit. Gandhi suggested that jalebi should be mass-produced in factories to reach a global audience. The BJP mocked this idea, stating that “jalebi factories do not exist,” and jalebi began trending on social media as the BJP closed in on their victory.

To mark the historic win, Rajasthan CM and BJP leader Bhajanlal Sharma even tried his hand at making the sweet, adding another layer to the party’s celebrations.
