After Kohli’s Maiden T20I Ton, Bhuvi’s 5 Wkt Haul Led India To Defeat Afghanistan By 101 Run

Dubai: It was easy and must-win for India and the Indian fans. While Virat Kohli came into his own and broke his hundred drought with number 71, Bhuvaneswar Kumar blew the top order of Afghanistan away with his skillful bowling and recorded his career-best T20I figures.

For Afghanistan, Ibrahim Zadran’s 64 gave some respectability to the team’s total after Bhuvneshwar ran through their top order as India secured a 101-run win over Mohammad Nabi’s side in Dubai.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar took a five-wicket haul, while Ravichandran Ashwin, Deepak Hooda, Arshdeep Singh took one wicket each to bundle Afghanistan at 111/8.

Kohli smashed 122* runs off 61 balls while Rishabh Pant scored 20* off 16, to take India’s score at 212/2. With Rohit Sharma being rested for India’s final game of the tournament, stand-in skipper K L Rahul (62 off 41) and Kohli shared an entertaining 119 off 76 balls for the opening wicket.
