Asia Cup 2022: India Take On Afghanistan In A Formality Game

India will take on Afghanistan in their third match of the Super Four stage of the 2022 Asia Cup today. India, who lost a thriller against Sri Lanka, will play their final match of the tournament.

Skipper Rohit Sharma scored a sizzling 41-ball 72 to propel India to 173/8. However, a 97-run opening partnership between Pathum Nissanka (52) and Kusal Mendis (57), and a quickfire 33* from Dasun Shanaka helped Sri Lanka cross the finish line.

After the match against Sri Lanka, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma said that there is no need for India to worry at the moment.

“We pretty much know now what to deal with regarding our combination. No worries. It is just the two games we have lost back-to-back. Since the last World Cup, we haven’t lost much,” said Sharma after the match against Sri Lanka.

On the other hand, Afghanistan went down to Pakistan in a nail-biting contest in their previous match on Wednesday.
