Bumrah Injury Update: Siraj Named As Replacement For T20I Series Against South Africa

The BCCI on Friday announced that Jasprit Bumrah would be replaced by Mohammed Siraj for the remainder of the T20I series against South Africa.

Mumbai: The BCCI on Friday announced that Jasprit Bumrah would be replaced by Mohammed Siraj for the rest of the T20I series against South Africa. Guwahati and Indore will host the remaining two T20Is on October 2 and 4 respectively.

Jasprit Bumrah, sidelined with a back stress fracture, is currently under the supervision of the BCCI Medical Team.

Siraj has featured in 5 T20Is for India, picking up 5 wickets. The 28-year-old pacer was last seen in action for Warwickshire in county cricket.

Bumrah missed the opening T20I against the Proteas on Wednesday and, the following day flew down to Bengaluru’s NCA to have his back problem assessed.
