I Want To Keep Myself Fit For The 2023 World Cup: Dhawan Ahead Of Ind Vs SA 1st ODI

Mumbai: As India is set to face South Africa on October 6 in Lucknow, captain Shikhar Dhawan said that his focus is on keeping himself fit and in a good state of mind for the 2023 World Cup.

Speaking ahead of the ODI series on Wednesday, Dhawan said, “Whenever possible, I pass on my knowledge to youngsters. Now there is new responsibility on me but I see opportunity in challenges and I enjoy it.”

“My goal currently is the 2023 World Cup. I just want to keep myself fit and be in a good state of mind to be in the fray,” he added.

India will play a three-match series against South Africa, beginning October 6 in Lucknow. Dhawan has been one of the most consistent batters in the last couple of years and has done well as captain of India during the tours of Sri Lanka and the West Indies.
