IND Vs SA: Proteas Fail To Chase India’s Daunting Total; Millar’s 106 Goes Vain

Guwahati: It was a late start of South African batters which led the home team to achieve victory over the visitors. India beat South Africa by 16 runs in the second T20I at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium Guwahati on Sunday. India hit 237 for 3 to register their 4th highest total in T20I history.

Though David Miller and Quinton de Kock knocked their respective century and half-century, it was not enough for the strong total set by India in their first inning.

Miller and Quinton de Kock shifted their gears as South Africa keep their slight hopes in the game alive.

Axar Patel bowled Aiden Markram for 33 runs off 19 balls to put South Africa in trouble after Arshdeep Singh dented the Proteas’ chase by taking the wickets of Temba Bavuma and Rilee Rossouw in one over.

Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav scored 61 off 22 balls, while KL Rahul hit a 28-ball 57 as India posted a big total of 237/3 in 20 overs.

Openers Rahul and Rohit Sharma (43 off 37) laid a solid platform for India before Suryakumar and Virat Kohli (49 not out off 28) capitalized on it to take the side to a daunting total.
