Injury Scare For Team India! Bumrah Ruled Out of T20 World Cup Due to Back Stress Fracture

The star Indian bowler is set to miss the T20I World Cup due to a back stress fracture.

Mumbai: In a major setback to the Indian cricket team, the team’s premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is likely to miss the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia next month due to a back injury, according to sources at the BCCI, PTI reported on Thursday.

Bumrah who has played in 60 T20Is, is out with a back stress fracture, as it is understood. Bumrah’s back issue had previously prevented him from being featured in the 2022 edition of the Asia Cup. The board, however, is reluctant to gamble with the fitness of one of their key players during a World Cup due to his chronic back issue.

Due to Bumrah’s departure from the squad, either Mohammad Shami or Deepak Chahar will have the opportunity to compete in the aforementioned competition, which gets underway on October 16 at the Geelong Cricket Ground in Victoria, Australia.
