Lasith Malinga Replaces Shane Bond as Mumbai Indians’ Bowling Coach

Mumbai: Former Sri Lankan cricketer Lasith Malinga has been appointed as the bowling coach of the Mumbai Indians for the upcoming IPL 2024 season. He replaces Shane Bond, who stepped down after nine years at the helm.

Malinga is a renowned pace bowler who has played for the Mumbai Indians in the past. He is the highest wicket-taker in IPL history, with 170 wickets in 122 matches. He previously worked with the Rajasthan Royals, but will now return to the Mumbai Indians for the upcoming season.

Malinga expressed his excitement about the new role, stating that it is an honour to be appointed as the bowling coach of the Mumbai Indians. He looks forward to working with the team, especially the bowling unit, which impressed him last season. He is also eager to nurture the young MI talent that has the potential to excel.
