Pat Cummins Makes T20 World Cup History with Back-to-Back Hat-Tricks

Kingstown: Australia fast bowler Pat Cummins has made history by becoming the first bowler to claim back-to-back hat-tricks at the T20 World Cup. The remarkable achievement occurred during Australia’s Super Eights match against Afghanistan today.

Cummins secured the hat-trick by dismissing Rashid Khan on the final ball of the 18th over, followed by wickets of Karim Janat and Gulbadin Naib in the 20th over.

“Crazy to get two in a row after playing 100+ games for Australia,” Cummins commented during the innings break.

Previously, Cummins had achieved his first-ever hat-trick in Australia’s previous game against Bangladesh, taking out Mahmudullah, Mahedi Hasan, and Towhid Hridoy across the 18th and 20th overs.

Despite his outstanding performance, Australia were defeated by Afghanistan, who secured their first-ever win over the Aussies by 21 runs.
