Pakistan to Host 2nd Test Against Bangladesh in Karachi Behind Closed Doors
Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the second Test match against Bangladesh, scheduled at the National Stadium in Karachi, will be held behind closed doors.
The PCB cited ongoing construction work at the stadium, ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy next year, as the primary reason for the move.
Acknowledging the crucial role of spectators in the game, the PCB stated, “The health and safety of our fans is our utmost priority.” After thorough evaluation, the board concluded that holding the match without spectators is the safest option.
As a result, ticket sales for the Test, set for August 30 to September 3, have been suspended. The PCB has assured that fans who purchased tickets will receive automatic refunds.
The board expressed regret over any inconvenience caused but said that the stadium upgrades are intended to enhance the spectator experience for future events.
Pakistan is set to face Bangladesh in two Test matches, with the first to be played in Rawalpindi from August 21.
