Preview: India-Australia ODI Series Begins Today

Mumbai: India will take on Australia in a three-match one-day international series starting today. Hardik Pandya will lead the Men in Blue in the first ODI.

Ahead of the series, Hardik Pandya stated that India will not try anything new and will play according to the situation.

“We are not trying anything new. We will play according to the situation but we will try to be brave which I think in the last couple of series we have done well. The more challenging and closer the bilateral games get, that’s the only way we can learn and start playing under pressure,” said Hardik in the pre-match press conference.

“I don’t think we need to look at it [previous ICC events] right now – past is past. We are looking forward to the future and hoping for the best,” he added.

Virat Kohli is only 191 runs short of 13000 ODI runs, and this series will present the right-hander a chance to breach that landmark. And, if Kohli (eight centuries against Australia) scores a hundred in this series, he will equal Sachin Tendulkar (nine centuries) for the most centuries against Australia in ODIs.

On the other hand, Australia will be led by Steve Smith, as regular skipper Pat Cummins is on a personal break.
