Shreyas Iyer’s Blistering Ton Helps India To Level 3-Match ODI Series Vs Proteas

Ranchi: The three-match ODI series between India and South Africa levelled on Sunday as the Men in Blue won the second ODI by seven wickets at JSCA Stadium in Ranchi.

Meanwhile, the Shikhar Dhawan-led side thus levelled the three-match series 1-1.

Shreyas Iyer notched his second ODI century off 103 balls and stayed unbeaten on 113 as India chased the target down with 25 balls to spare. Sanju Samson also carried his good form after scoring 29 off 36.

At the time, India were 48 for 2 at one stage after losing both their openers Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill but Iyer took India to the finishing line with a well-tailored century after the wicket of Ishan Kishan (93 off 84 balls).

Earlier, South Africa posted 278 for 7 in 50 overs, thanks to Aiden Markram (79) and Reeza Hendricks (74). David Miller scored an unbeaten 34-ball 35, taking South Africa to 278 for the loss of seven wickets.

Mohammed Siraj impressed with figures of 3 for 38 in 10 overs while Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Kuldeep, and Shardul Thakur got one wicket apiece.

The third and final ODI of the series is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 11 at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
