T20 World Cup 2022: India’s Semi-Final Hopes Now Rest On Rain

Adelaide: After facing a tough defeat at the hands of South Africa in their last match, India is slated to take on Bangladesh in their next Super 12 match at the T20 World Cup today, with an intention to bounce back into the tournament and strengthen their semi-final hopes.

With the two teams gazing at each other with 4 points each on the points table, India slightly outweighs Bangladesh based on the net run rate. However, the overhead conditions at the Adelaide, where the match is to be played don’t look that promising.

In Australia, the men’s cricket season doesn’t start until late November or early December, which also signals the start of the summer. But because of an early start, not one, not two, but four games have been abandoned due to rain so far.

Weather portals predict cloudy skies over Adelaide throughout the gameday, whereas, a rain pause is possibly on the cards in the second half of the game.

Even though India has a better record against Bangladesh when it comes to head-to-head numbers, having won 10 of the 11 encounters thus far, their last meeting at the 2016 world cup was a nail-biter.

With “Rain, Rain Go Away…” on their lips, cricket lovers remain in anticipation of witnessing a good game this afternoon.
