Wild Bear Dies of Electrocution in Malkangiri District

Malkangiri: The body of a female wild bear, reportedly electrocuted to death at MV-17 village of Malkangiri district was discovered on Wednesday morning.

According to sources, the wild bear strayed into the village in search of food. It accidentally came in contact with live wires at a transformer near a Shiva temple at MV-17 village under Malkangiri block and died on Tuesday night.

Locals found the body of the bear on Wednesday morning and informed forest officials.

Forest officials seized the bear carcass for post-mortem.
