One Maoist Killed in Encounter With Security Forces in Sukma of Chhattisgarh

Raipur: A Maoist was killed during an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Saturday.

This exchange of fire occurred at a forested hill between Tolnai and Tetrai villages. A team of security personnel was involved in an anti-Maoist operation in the area since Friday night following intelligence about the presence of Naxalites in the area.

After the exchange of fire, the security forces recovered the body of a Maoist, along with a muzzle loading gun and some explosives from the spot of the encounter.

The identity of the dead Maoist has not been ascertained. A combing operation continues in the area to track down the escaped ultras.

With this incident, the total number of Maoists killed in encounters with security forces in Chhattisgarh in 2024 reached 105.
