Rahul Gandhi Addresses Rayagada Rally in Virtual Mode, Outlines Vision For Odisha

Rayagada: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was scheduled to attend a public rally in Rayagada, Odisha on Friday. However, due to his nomination filing for the Raebareli Lok Sabha seat, he addressed the gathering virtually in the afternoon.

Gandhi highlighted five key guarantees proposed by the All India Congress Committee (AICC). These include waiving off farmers’ loans, increasing the minimum support price (MSP) for paddy, prioritizing job opportunities for graduates and diploma engineers, conducting a caste census for Dalits, Scheduled Tribes, and backward classes, and ensuring 50% reservation for women in the job sector.

Further, Gandhi pledged to raise the daily wage for MGNREGA beneficiaries to Rs 400 and provide a monthly allowance of Rs 8,500 for women if Congress is voted to power.

He criticised both the Central and state governments for privatizing public sector enterprises and favouring billionaires over marginalized communities.

Prominent Congress leaders, such as Odisha PCC chief Sarat Pattanayak, Ajoy Kumar, Bhakta Charan Das, Ram Chandra Khuntia, Taraprasad Bahinipati, and Koraput MP Saptagiri Ulaka, also addressed the rally.
