WATCH: Chaos Erupts at Gujarat Job Interview as Nearly 2,000 Candidates Swarm Venue for 10 Posts

Bharuch: In a startling incident in Bharuch, Gujarat, a massive crowd gathered for interviews at a private company, resulting in a steel railing collapse that injured several people.

The event took place at the Lords Plaza Hotel in Ankleshwar, where an engineering company from the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation complex in Jhagadia was conducting open interviews. Officials reported that over 1,800 job seekers showed up on Monday for a mere 10 job openings.

Videos circulating online show a long queue of hopefuls extending up two flights of stairs into the hotel entrance. As the crowd outside swelled, pressure on the railing increased, eventually causing it to give way. Although the fall was not from a great height, several individuals were seen jumping down or falling with the railing. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.

The incident quickly became a political flashpoint. The Congress party criticized the BJP, claiming the event underscored rising unemployment and the failure of the so-called “Gujarat model.” In a post on X, the Congress argued that this model is now being imposed across the country.

Bharuch MP Mansukh Vasava shifted the blame to the company, suggesting they should have better specified the criteria for the open interview. He emphasized the diversity of Bharuch, calling it a “mini India” where people from across the country come to work and live. Vasava assured that steps are being taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
