300 Students Awarded Mukhyamantri Research Fellowship in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has selected 300 meritorious students for the Mukhyamantri Research Fellowship Programme to pursue research in various disciplines at 15 public universities across Odisha this year.

These students, chosen through the Mukhyamantri Research Fellowship Test (MRFT) conducted by the State Selection Board (SSB), will receive funding to support their research.

The MRFT, modelled after the CSIR UGC NET and featuring a multiple-choice format with no negative marking, saw 3,876 candidates compete for the fellowship. The selected students will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹30,000 for four years from their PhD registration date, along with an annual contingency fund—₹50,000 for Science practical subjects and ₹30,000 for non-practical subjects.

The fellowship aims to identify and support exceptional research talent in Odisha’s public universities, promoting innovation and academic excellence in 47 subjects spanning Science and Humanities disciplines.
