Odisha Govt to Launch Pilgrim Bus Services Across India, Special Rath Yatra Services Planned

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced plans to operate buses to major pilgrim destinations across India from various locations within the state.

The decision was made during a review meeting led by Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Jena on the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation’s (OSRTC) performance.

Minister Jena revealed that OSRTC will soon run special buses from key cities such as Puri, Bhubaneswar, Berhampur, and Rourkela. These buses will cater to pilgrims travelling to renowned sites including Ayodhya, Tirupati, Varanasi, Vrindavan, and Mahakaleshwar.

Additionally, special arrangements will be in place to transport devotees to Puri for the Rath Yatra on July 7. On this day, OSRTC buses will operate from all block headquarters to ensure smooth travel for devotees.

Under the LAccMI scheme, the government aims to provide bus services to areas lacking connectivity, ensuring comprehensive transportation solutions across Odisha. Minister Jena stated that while the scheme’s name is secondary, the primary goal is to enhance daily commuting options for residents throughout the state.
