Rahul Gandhi Lambasts BJP Over Urinating Incident in Madhya Pradesh

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi slammed the BJP government for the increasing atrocities against tribals and Dalits. He referred to a recent incident in Madhya Pradesh where a man, allegedly associated with the BJP, was seen urinating on a tribal person. Rahul Gandhi called it an “inhuman act” that exposed the BJP’s hatred towards marginalized communities.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress general secretary, also condemned the incident and accused the BJP of making empty claims about tribal interests. She demanded that the government take real steps to address atrocities against tribals. Priyanka Gandhi claimed that during the 18 years of BJP rule in Madhya Pradesh, 30,400 cases of atrocities on tribals have been reported.

A video of the incident went viral on social media, leading to widespread demands for the arrest of the man involved. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan ordered the immediate arrest of the person, later identified as Pravesh Shukla, a local BJP leader from the Sidhi district.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted in Hindi, expressing his disgust over the incident and stating that it revealed the BJP’s true character of hatred towards tribals and Dalits. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra also condemned the act as heinous and stated that it was a blot on humanity.

The accused, Pravesh Shukla, has been arrested and a case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Additionally, the National Security Act has been invoked against him.

It is worth noting that the term “bulldozer action” used by Congress refers to the Uttar Pradesh government’s practice of demolishing properties owned by alleged criminals. However, the MP Home Minister dismissed the demand for “bulldozer action” and clarified that it is only implemented in cases of encroachment.

The incident has sparked outrage and renewed discussions about the need for concrete measures to combat atrocities against marginalized communities in the country.
