SRH Appoint Daniel Vettori as Head Coach Ahead of IPL 2024

SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) have appointed former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori as their head coach for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Vettori, who is renowned for his left-arm spin and lower-order batting prowess, had an illustrious playing career. He made his Test debut at the age of 18 and went on to become the eighth all-rounder to take 300 Test wickets and score 3000 runs.

The decision to bring in Vettori comes after SRH’s disappointing performance in the 2023 edition of the tournament, where they finished last despite having a strong lineup of players. The franchise decided to part ways with Brian Lara, their previous coach.

Following his retirement from all forms of cricket in 2015, Vettori has coached Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL and served as the spin bowling coach for the Australian team. He has also been head coach of the Caribbean Premier League franchise Barbados Royals.

Vettori’s appointment is a coup for SRH, as he is one of the most experienced coaches in the IPL. He is known for his ability to develop young talent and build strong teams. With Vettori at the helm, SRH will be hoping to challenge for the title in 2024.
