The BRICS summit is a forum for the five major emerging economies of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa to discuss cooperation on trade, investment, and development. This year’s summit is the first in-person BRICS summit since 2019.
In addition to the BRICS summit, PM Modi will also hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of South Africa, Brazil, and Russia. He is also expected to meet with the Indian community in South Africa.
After his visit to South Africa, PM Modi will travel to Greece (the first Indian Prime Minister to visit in four decades). He will hold talks with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on ways to deepen cooperation between the two countries.
