Bargarh Police Arrest 30 in Major Crackdown on Illegal Cough Syrup Smuggling

Bargarh: The Bargarh Police have arrested 30 people involved in the illegal trade of cough syrups. The arrests were made in a series of raids across the district, including Padampur, Jagdalpur, Paikmal, Buden, Gaisilet, and Melchamunda.

The cough syrups were being smuggled into the district from other states. The police seized a large quantity of cough syrups, along with other incriminating material.

The arrests are a major blow to the illegal cough syrup trade in the district. The police are committed to cracking down on drug-related activities and making the district a safer place.

Earlier this year, in March, the Bolangir Police orchestrated a successful operation that led to the arrest of 38 individuals involved in an inter-state cough syrup smuggling ring. The operation yielded substantial results, including the confiscation of 12,960 bottles of cough syrup valued at Rs 35 lakh. Additional items seized included a locally-made pistol, three automobiles, two motorcycles, 17 mobile phones, cash, and other pertinent evidence.
