Sambalpur Police Crackdown: 6 Hardcore Criminals Arrested, Illegal Firearms Seized

Sambalpur: In a significant crackdown on criminal activities and the illegal possession of firearms, the Sambalpur Police announced on Sunday that they had successfully arrested six notorious criminals involved in multiple cases. The operation, carried out jointly by four police stations, led to the recovery of eight firearms, 22 live rounds of ammunition, a car, two motorcycles, and a sum of Rs 11.20 lakh in cash from the suspects.

Sambalpur SP, Mukesh Bhamoo, stated that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the origin of the seized weapons. There are suspicions that the criminals were engaged in the smuggling of firearms, acquiring them from various sources in Bihar and other parts of the country.

Furthermore, it has been discovered that these criminals had been utilizing the seized firearms to instill fear among the public and extort money. The SP emphasized that such activities will not be tolerated.

The individuals arrested have been identified as Md. Samsher, Md. Mousim, Manu Pandey, Mohit Paswan, Santosh Moharana, and Md Ahmad. The police are now working diligently to gather more information regarding their criminal network and any potential associates.
