Crackdown on Poaching: 3 Arrested, 8 Guns Seized in Similipal National Park Operation

Mayurbhanj: A major operation is underway in Similipal National Park’s outskirts in the Mayurbhanj district. Police have arrested three poachers and seized eight country-made guns following raids at multiple places, as reported.

The operation is part of a preventive measure to maintain the sanctity of Similipal and to provide a safe environment for tourists and animals.

So far, 16 weapons have been seized in the operation. Police have also urged people to share information about poachers and those keeping or manufacturing weapons.

The arrests were made based on reliable intelligence inputs. Police have deployed three platoons of police force in the area and another one will be deployed soon to strengthen the security measures.

The operation has resulted in a substantial drop in criminal activities in the area.
