Similipal National Park to Reopen For Tourists From October 14

Baripada: Similipal National Park, Asia’s second-largest biosphere reserve, is set to reopen its doors to tourists from October 14 after being closed for nearly five months during the monsoon season. This renowned Tiger Reserve is situated in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district, offering a remarkable opportunity for nature enthusiasts.

Tourists can access the park through two entry points, namely Kaliani and Pithabata. The visiting hours are from 6 am to 9 am, and departure is allowed from Barehipani and Jaranda by 3 pm and from Chahala by 4 pm. Each day, a limited number of 25-35 vehicles will be permitted inside the National Park to ensure a sustainable and eco-friendly experience.

To maintain the park’s pristine environment, visitors are prohibited from bringing plastic bags and alcohol within its boundaries. Additionally, tourists can conveniently make online bookings for night stays through the reserve’s official website.
