OSSC Takes Stern Action: Show Cause Notices Issued to 55 Candidates for Question Paper Leak

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) has taken strict action following the JE (Civil) exam question paper leak incident. Show cause notices have been issued to 55 candidates, asking them why they should not be permanently barred from OSSC recruitment. The decision is based on a report from Balasore Superintendent of Police.

Efforts are underway to identify the remaining 37 candidates in coordination with Balasore Police. Additional information has been requested from the police to establish the link between the candidates and their applications.

On July 23, the OSSC cancelled the Main Written Examination for JE (Civil), which was originally conducted on July 16, 2023, after confirmation of the question paper leak by the Balasore SP. The Commission has rescheduled the examination for September 3.

The Balasore Police claimed to have solved the question paper leak case and revealed that it originated from a printing press outside Odisha. A significant development in the case came when the police arrested eight more individuals, including the mastermind, from Bihar. Notably, the mastermind behind the leak is a Bihar government employee. In total, 17 individuals have been arrested so far in connection with the incident.

This decisive action by OSSC and the collaboration with law enforcement in solving the case demonstrate the commitment to maintain the integrity of the recruitment process and uphold fairness for all candidates. The Commission aims to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future, safeguarding the credibility of the examination system.
