Question Paper Leak, Bihar Constable Recruitment Exam Cancelled

Patna: The police constable recruitment examination conducted in Bihar was cancelled on Tuesday following question paper leak. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar confirmed that the question papers of the recruitment exam were leaked throughout the state.

Bihar government plans to recruit over 21,000 police constables. Around 6 lakh youths had applied for the positions. The constable recruitment examination was to be conducted in three phases. The first one was conducted on Sunday (October 1) while the other two were scheduled on October 7 and 15.

Following the Oct 1 exam, there were media reports about question paper leaks. The EOU took up the investigation and found the allegations to be true.

The tests already conducted have been cancelled while the ones scheduled later have been postponed.

According to the EOU, a total of 67 FIRs have been registered across 21 districts in the exam paper leak, and 148 people have been arrested.

The answers to the questions were circulated around one-and-a-half hours before the examination.
