This isn’t Dorothy’s first time defying gravity. On her 100th birthday, she took her first skydiving leap. However, she felt that she was pushed out of the plane, and she wanted to take the lead. So, four years later, she decided to do it again, on her terms.

Dorothy recounted her thrilling adventures, stating, “When we got to the altitude and were ready to jump, we all stood up, moved to the door, put our feet out, and left the plane. It was a wonderful experience.”

A representative from Skydive Chicago shared that Dorothy may soon be officially recognized as the oldest person to complete a tandem parachute jump, breaking the current record held by a 103-year-old woman.

Dorothy’s message to others is clear: “If you ever get the chance, do it. It’s not frightening.” And she’s not stopping at skydiving; she plans to take a trip in a hot air balloon next.

In a world where age often limits adventures, Dorothy Hoffner reminds us that the beauty of life is just one bold leap away.
