EC’s Vote from Home Facility, 6447 Voters Avail it in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: Over 6,400 aged voters in Chhattisgarh will avail the Election Commission of India’s vote-from-home facility for senior citizens above 80 years of age and persons with more than 40 per cent disability.

The Election Commission has introduced the facility of voting through postal ballot at home to voters above 80 years of age or with more than 40 per cent disability.

This facility has been introduced in the state assembly elections to be held this month. In Chhattisgarh a total of 6,447 voters will benefit from this facility. Out of them, 2,457 are those who have completed the age of 100 years and have voted since the start of election process in the country.

Polling to the 90-member Chhattisgarh assembly will be held in two phases on November 7 and 17.

The voters include 1,01,35,561 males, 1,02,56,846 females and 753 transgenders.
