JD(U) Leader Attacks Police, Tries to Set Female Cop on Fire

Patna: Bihar police arrested a JD(U) leader in Saharsa, who had allegedly attacked a police team and also tried to set ablaze a female police constable.  He has been arrested or obstructing the investigation and assaulting the cops.

The arrested JD(U) leader was identified as Chunna Mukhiya. According to police sources, he was in an inebriated state, when he attacked the police team, poured petrol over the female constable and tried to set her on fire.

The police team that was attacked by the JD(U) leader was trying to arrest some persons who had broken a barricade and sped away to escape the police check.

On Wednesday night, the investigating police team received information that the accused were hiding at Chunna Mukhiya’s house.

When police raided the JD(U) leader’s home, he and his supporters attacked the cops. Mukhiya brought a bucket full of petrol from a nearby petrol pump, which he threw on a woman constable. He then allegedly asked his wife to get a matchstick and set the cops on fire.
