Bumrah Achieves Historic 1st for India in World Cup, Know What

During team India’s match against Sri Lanka, Jasprit Bumrah became the first Indian bowler to take a wicket on the very first ball of a team innings during a Cricket World Cup match.

It was the first time achievement by any Indian bowler in 48 years of World Cup Cricket history. No Indian bowler had done it till Bumrah in the Cricket World Cup.

Bowling against Sri Lanka during the Cricket World Cup 2023 match, Bumrah’s perfect first delivery trapped Pathum Nissanka in an LBW. The delivery moved rapidly away from the batter and it hit Nissanka high on the pads. The umpire gave it out but Sri Lanka went for a review and it confirmed the decision.

In a dominant performance, India secured their spot in the World Cup semifinals with a resounding 302-run victory over Sri Lanka.

Although Team India scored a mammoth 357 for 8 against Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli once again missed out on a record equalling 49th ODI hundred. Kohli scored 88 off 94 balls.
