Repolling Ordered in Booth of Kantamal Assembly Constituency

Boudh: Re-polling will be held in a booth in the Kantamal Assembly constituency in Odisha’s Boudh district.

The Election Commission of India has given this re-polling order following an allegation of rigging at Maheshwarpinda booth number-28 under the Raksha Panchayat of Kantmal Assembly constituency of Boudh. The BJD party had requested the state Chief Electoral Officer to conduct re-polling in the area. According to reports, voting was stopped at this booth on Monday at around 1.30 pm following unruly scenes.

Protestors demonstrated in front of the booth for two hours due to which traffic on the national highway was disrupted. It is also said that the protestors pelted stones at the police force that reached the spot to remove the agitators.
