Bengaluru: Senior BJP leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on Monday for an inquiry in connection with a POCSO case registered against him.
On Friday, the Karnataka High Court restrained the CID from arresting Yediyurappa in connection with the March 14 case.
According to police, the mother of a 17-year-old girl has registered a complaint alleging that Yediyurappa allegedly molested her daughter at his residence in Dollars Colony of Bengaluru during a meeting on February 2, 2024.
Yediyurappa has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012, and Section 354 A (Sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Yediyurappa has denied the charge and alleged that it was a conspiracy against him.
